Whitworth University to Host National Immigration Forum Executive Director

Spokane- -Whitworth University’s Office of Church Engagement welcomes Ali Noorani, executive director of the National Immigration Forum, on Monday, Feb. 12, from 7-8:30 p.m. in Weyerhaeuser Hall’s Robinson Teaching Theatre.


Noorani is a highly sought-after expert on immigration policy and politics, having appeared on Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, NBC News and ABC News. He is frequently quoted in the nation’s largest newspapers including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and USA Today. Most recently, he has been an outspoken advocate on behalf of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) students and is currently enlisting conservatives from around the country to help with immigration reform issues.

Before joining the National Immigration Forum, Noorani was executive director of the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition, and had served in leadership roles within public health and environmental organizations. In 2015, Noorani was named a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He holds a master of public health from Boston University and is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley.

This event is free and open to the public. Located in Spokane, Wash., Whitworth is a private, liberal arts university affiliated with the Presbyterian church. The university, which has an enrollment of nearly 3,000 students, offers more than 100 undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
