On Aug. 5, Whitworth Professor of English Pamela Corpron Parker, '81, presented a lecture, "Woman of Letters: Elizabeth Gaskell's autograph collection and Victorian celebrity," at The John Rylands Library at Manchester University, England, as part of the school's Elizabeth Gaskell Bicentenary Celebration.

New location to accommodate university's growth downtown
Whitworth University has moved its downtown center to a larger space nearby to meet rising demand for its programs and to pave the way for future growth. The new site is located in a leased space on the first floor of the Riverfront Office Park Building, at 534 E. Spokane Falls Blvd. Classes will begin at the new location on Aug. 16.
Whitworth history professor to host 13-part TV series on Chinese Catholic martyrs

Anthony E. Clark, assistant professor of East Asian history at Whitworth, will host the TV series "The Saints of China: Martyrs of the Middle Kingdom," which will air in spring 2011. Featured on the Eternal Word Television Network, the world's largest religious media network, the documentary is expected to reach millions of viewers.

2010 alumnus Kellen Oetgen, senior Evan Staley, and junior Marc Rollins have published an article, "Effects of Variations in Plasma Propulsion System Performance on Mars Cargo Missions," in the March/April issue of Journal of Spacecraft and Rockets.
