“Fire from Heaven” Comes to Whitworth for One-Night Only Performance April 3

Whitworth University is pleased to host a free performance of the one-actor show Fire From Heaven: Michael Faraday and the Dawn of the Electrical Age. The production is coming to Whitworth University for a one-night-only performance on Monday, April 3, at 7 p.m. in Cowles Auditorium.

Whitworth Welcomes Grammy-Winning Trumpeter Brian Lynch for Jazz Clinic and Concert April 14-15

Whitworth University is pleased to announce its Guest Artist Jazz Concert will feature multi-Grammy award-winning trumpeter and composer Brian Lynch on Saturday, April 15, at 8 p.m. at the Bing Crosby Theater. Lynch will perform arrangements and original compositions with the nationally recognized Whitworth Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Jared Hall, assistant professor of music. 

Whitworth Welcomes Journalist Elizabeth Bruenig on Oct. 2

The Weyerhaeuser Center for Christian Faith & Learning, along with Speakers & Artists and the Simpson-Duvall Lectureship, will host journalist and Pulitzer Prize finalist Elizabeth Bruenig on Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. in Weyerhaeuser Hall’s Robinson Teaching Theatre. 

Whitworth Professor’s Expert Analysis Featured in "Time" Magazine

An op-ed piece by Aaron Griffith, Whitworth assistant professor of modern history, about a recent worship service at Asbury University in Kentucky will be featured in the March 27/April 3 issue of Time magazine. 

Whitworth Theatre is proud to present its spring main-stage production, Saint Joan, this month in Cowles Auditorium. Showtimes are March 10, 11, 17 and 18 at 7:30 p.m. and March 12 and 19 at 2 p.m.

As part of its Spring Speaker Series, the Weyerhaeuser Center for Christian Faith & Learning, along with the Office of Church Engagement, will host John Inazu, Ph.D., on March 9 at 7 p.m. in Weyerhaeuser Hall’s Robinson Teaching Theatre. 

Whitworth to Launch School of Health Sciences to Meet Growing Demand

In April, Whitworth University will form the School of Health Sciences to house Whitworth’s undergraduate health sciences department, doctoral programs in occupational and physical therapy, Master of Science in Athletic Training program, and pre-nursing program. Whitworth is launching the school with the desire to best prepare graduates to serve people and communities in a variety of health and wellness careers and to enhance the university’s ability to respond to employers’ emerging needs.
