Alumna explores film acting, philosophy and ethics in pursuit of law career

Amy Bernard, '08, took full advantage of the liberal arts undergraduate education she received at Whitworth. As a double major in philosophy and theatre, she explored a wide range of opportunities during her time in school – opportunities that have helped her pursue successful career paths after graduation.

Theology department welcomes new professor with expertise in environmental science

This summer, the Whitworth Department of Theology will welcome the arrival of its newest professor, Jonathan Moo, an expert on apocalyptic literature who also has an extensive background in science.

Education alumna pursues teaching career abroad

Soon after entering Whitworth's education program, Sarah Douglas, '09, began inquiring about student teaching overseas, realizing it would be the ideal gateway to a full-time international teaching position. With help from the School of Education's professors and staff, Douglas has spent the last nine months teaching English at Marianas High School, in Saipan.

Four Whitworth students receive 2010 Samuel Robinson Award

2010 Whitworth alumni Brianne Jensen and Daniel Lewis and seniors Claire LePage and Heather Wallace have received the 2010 Samuel Robinson Award. The students received up to $5,000 based on their recitation of the Westminster Shorter Catechism and a 2,000-word essay.

WIM provides clergy, laity, and their spouses and children with a week of spiritual encouragement, equipping for ministry, and inspiring worship.

Whitworth appoints John Hengesh as interim director of its MBA program

Whitworth University has appointed John Hengesh, a longtime Spokane-area executive and adjunct faculty member in the School of Global Commerce & Management, to serve as interim director of the Whitworth Graduate Studies in Business Program. He begins June 1.
