Robert W. Heimburger to Speak on Illegal Immigration and the Christian Response

Whitworth University welcomes Robert W. Heimburger, author of God and the Illegal Alien: Federal United States Immigration Law and a Theology of Politics. Heimburger will discuss how Christians should respond to illegal immigration on Monday, April 9, at 7 p.m. in Whitworth’s Seeley G. Mudd Chapel. This free lecture is sponsored by the Staley Foundation and the Whitworth Theology Department.

Construction Begins on Whitworth’s Beeksma Family Theology Center

Construction is underway on the Beeksma Family Theology Center at Whitworth University. A project blessing ceremony will be held April 12 at 3:15 p.m. The $2.8 million addition to the Seeley G. Mudd Chapel will allow the theology department, the Office of Church Engagement and campus ministry to be housed in one building, which will lead to greater synergy among the three programs.

Powell will be the featured speaker at Whitworth University’s fall President’s Leadership Forum, to be held Friday, Oct. 12, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Spokane Convention Center. Powell’s planned address is titled “Diplomacy: Persuasion, Trust & Values.”
