November 14, 2012
The School of Global Commerce & Management is pleased to welcome Claudia Dumitrescu as an assistant professor of marketing. Dumitrescu has nearly 10 years of experience in both the academic and business worlds. She graduated from law school in Romania, her home country, obtained her MS from Arizona State University, and will complete a business administration doctoral program at ASU in May 2013.
Dumitrescu’s research interests lie in the area of consumer behavior, with an emphasis on consumer policy and corporate social responsibility as they relate to marketing communications and children. She is also interested in international and cross-cultural marketing in developing countries.
She worked for several years providing legal and business consulting for various companies in Romania and Greece. After coming to the United States, she served as president of the Arizona chapter of the National Agri-Marketing Association.
“Claudia’s commitment to providing quality education, her dedication to conducting research that sheds light on today’s marketing issues, and her diverse academic/business background are well-suited to the mission of the School of Global Commerce & Management,” says Charles L. Boppell Dean Tim Wilkinson. “We are looking forward to Claudia joining the Whitworth faculty in fall 2013.”
