Whitworth University presents fall art exhibit, “The Devil Is in the Details”

Whitworth University’s fall art exhibit, “The Devil Is in the Details,” explores the idea of making as knowledge. The artwork in this exhibition unleashes the possibilities of material, process and content to absurd, evocative and delightful ends. The exhibiting artists are Benjamin DeMott, Claire Hedden, Elisabeth Higgins O’Connor, Andy Messerschmidt and Joetta Maue.
The exhibit runs from Sept. 15-Oct. 30, 2015, in the Lied Center for the Visual Arts’ Bryan Oliver Gallery at Whitworth. An opening reception and artist talk will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 15, in the Bryan Oliver Gallery. The reception is from 5-6 p.m.; the artist talk, from 6-7 p.m., will feature Elisabeth Higgins O’Connor and Andy Messerschmidt. The event is free and open to the public. “The Devil Is in the Details” is partnered with a series of hands-on artist workshops for Whitworth students. The exhibit and artist workshops are made possible by a grant from the Robert B. McMillen Foundation.
