Whitworth President Beck A. Taylor to Participate in Holiday Event for Volunteers of America
October 31, 2017
Whitworth President Beck A. Taylor will take part in the
Serving with CEOs program on Nov. 7 at the Crosswalk Teen Shelter, 525 W.
Second Ave., Spokane, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Taylor will join members of Spokane County United Way’s Emerging Leaders Society (ELS) in decorating Christmas trees for 12 local Volunteers of America programs. “It’s an honor to take part in an event like this,” Taylor says. “These are very important programs in our community. The people who use these services are often dealing with a great amount of stress and have possibly suffered great hardships. It’s wonderful that we can come together through Whitworth’s partnership with ELS, and through our common missions of serving our community, bring some goodness and light to these folks and the employees working on their behalf during the holidays.”

develop leadership skills and generate change in the Spokane community. It
provides a platform for its members to be recognized for the differences they
make in the community. ELS currently has 145 members and 25 board members, nearly a
quarter of which are Whitworth MBA students and alumni.
The Serving with CEOs program was formed in 2016 in an effort to connect young business professionals to opportunities they care about and to allow them to network with industry leaders already making positive contributions in Spokane.
