Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown to be Keynote Speaker for “Belonging is the Heart of Whitworth” Event
The luncheon, sponsored by the Whitworth Office of the Vice President for Student Life and the Office for Student Success, Equity & Belonging, is part of Whitworth’s Belonging Weekend, Feb. 14-15, and is designed to bring the student, faculty and staff populations together to celebrate the importance of fostering a sense of inclusivity and belonging on campus.
“A pivotal goal of the Belonging Initiative is to enable every student to feel connected at Whitworth and to build meaningful relationships that affirm the importance of mattering,” says Shari Clarke, Ph.D., director of student success, equity & belonging. “We recognize that the city of Spokane has a Belonging Initiative as well and thought it ideal to hear the mayor’s voice as we begin the new year.” Space is limited. Please RSVP here.
Undergraduate students are also invited to the Belonging Retreat in the HUB Multipurpose Room (MPR) from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15.
