Celebrate the Season at Whitworth’s Christmas Festival Concert, “Jubilate Deo”
Led by Xiaosha Lin, director of choral activities, and conducted by Scott D. Miller, professor of music, the concert will feature the Whitworth Choir, Forest Treble Choir and Ponderosa Tenor Bass Choir as well as the Whitworth Brass Quintet, percussionists Max Bartron ’27 and Luke Wagner ’25, and Spokane organist John Bodinger.
The program will bring you all the sounds of the holiday season and include Christmas hymns like Wonder Tidings and O Little Town of Bethlehem and readings by Whitworth faculty members Jonathan Moo and Katherine Karr-Conejo.
The finale of the concert will present an arrangement based on the renowned organ repertoire, Charles-Marie Widor’s Toccata from Symphony No. 5, to highlight the organ at the cathedral with the accompaniment of choirs, the brass quintet and percussion, sending the audience off into this joyful season.
