Saxophonist Joshua Redman to Perform with Whitworth Jazz Ensemble

Legendary jazz saxophonist Joshua Redman will be the featured guest artist for the 30th annual Whitworth Guest Artist Jazz Concert on Nov. 9 at 8 p.m. at the Fox Theater.


Redman has been nominated for six Grammys and has garnered top honors in critics and readers polls around the globe.

“Joshua Redman is not only one of the most important and current jazz musicians of our time, but he is also a truly inspiring and engaging artist,” says Dan Keberle, Whitworth professor of music and director of jazz studies. “This will be an experience of a lifetime for both our Whitworth jazz students and all who attend his concert at the Fox Theater!”

The award-winning Whitworth University Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Keberle, is one of the Northwest’s finest college jazz bands. It has taken top honors in the university division at multiple Lionel Hampton Jazz Festivals and was one of two university jazz big bands selected from colleges and universities in the six Northwest states to perform at eight recent All-Northwest and All State Music Educators Conferences.
