Whitworth Named One of the Nation’s Top Military Friendly® Schools by Viqtory Media

February 11, 2020
Whitworth University has earned the 2020-21 Military Friendly® School designation, with bronze distinction, by Viqtory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs®, STEM Jobs SM and Military Spouse. This is the fourth consecutive year Whitworth has received this honor.

First published in 2009, Military Friendly® Schools is the most comprehensive educational resource for veterans and their dependents. The bronze distinction signifies a school that scored within 30 percent of the 10th best school in its category. These institutions have exceptional military/veteran programs, and this award showcases their dedication.

Whitworth is an approved university to serve veterans and their family members who are eligible for educational benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs, including under the Post-9/11 GI Bill, Yellow Ribbon, Montgomery GI Bill, Veterans Educational Assistance, Survivors & Dependents Assistance and Military Tuition Assistance.

“It is a tremendous honor to be recognized for the fourth straight year as a university that values our military,” says Phil Labrie, Whitworth’s assistant director of veterans outreach. “Whitworth works so hard to demonstrate our appreciation and gratitude to the men and women who have served and defended everyone’s right to an education.”

Institutions earning the Military Friendly® School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses to Viqtory Media’s proprietary survey.  More than 1,000 schools participated in the 2020-2021 survey with 695 earning the designation.
