Whitworth to Host Third Annual Military/Veteran Appreciation Game on Sept. 17
The day will include a special program honoring our armed forces. The 12:45 p.m. preshow includes a skydiving demonstration by Skydive West Plains. Braden Roseborough from the Dauntless Pro Skydiving Team will jump from a helicopter 3,000 feet above the Pine Bowl and deploy a parachute before descending onto the field while proudly displaying the American flag.
Whitworth will unfurl its 80-foot American flag during the singing of the national anthem at the beginning of the game. During halftime, President Scott McQuilkin will perform a coining ceremony honoring members of Whitworth’s military community.
Admission is free for all members of the military/veterans and their families; however, this year, everyone will need a ticket to enter through the gates. Please visit the red Whitworth “Serving our Veterans” tent to pick up your free tickets.
Whitworth serves more than 200 military-connected students. It is proud to be recognized as a Military Friendly School with bronze distinction by Viqtory Media and has consistently been ranked in the top 10 “Best Colleges for Veterans: Regional Universities West” by U.S. News & World Report.
