One Caring Community, One Big Opportunity: One Pine Day is Feb. 20

February 19, 2024

The Whitworth community has always been a caring one, and this month it has one big opportunity to make a lasting impact on Whitworth students’ education.

One Pine Day, the university’s annual one-day giving event, will be held on Feb. 20, beginning at 5:30 a.m.

One Pine Day lasts 1,890 minutes in honor of Whitworth’s founding in 1890. Donations can be directed to any department, program or crowdfunding project. Here are just a few of the crowdfunding projects donors can choose from:

Clinical Experience Travel Grants for Health Science Graduate Students

Help-A-Pirate Succeed in Math

Huaka‘i Excursions for Pasefika Whitworthians

Meals on the Run

Scholarships for Women Students to Attend Leadership Events

As a private Christian university, Whitworth depends on its network of alumni, faculty, staff, families and friends to come together and make a difference in the lives of its students.

Last year, on One Pine Day 2023:

Donors fully funded 12 projects.

Donors met five challenges, unlocking an additional $115,000.

809 total donors represented 35 states.

International donations came in from Austria, Canada, Iraq, Japan, Nepal and Mongolia.

We thank all the generous donors who made One Pine Day 2023 so successful and hope to repeat the incredible success of last year’s fundraising event.
