Whitworth Named a Top Ten Military Friendly® School for 2025-2026
This designation reflects Whitworth’s long-standing commitment to nurturing, protecting and uplifting the military-connected community, including veterans, active-duty service members and their families. Viqtory cited the university’s “sustainable and meaningful education paths for the Military Community” as a key reason for the honor.
“At Whitworth, we believe every student should feel known, supported and deeply valued – and that includes our veterans and military-affiliated students,” says Josh Hibbard, vice president for enrollment management. “We are humbled by this recognition, but more importantly, we are committed to walking alongside military-connected students with compassion, generosity and unwavering support – so they can thrive academically, personally and in their calling beyond the classroom.”
The Military Friendly® ratings are based on a combination of public data and proprietary survey results, assessed by an independent advisory council of military education experts and industry leaders. The scoring process has been fully automated to ensure fairness and transparency.
At Whitworth, the Military & Veterans Resource Center (MAVRC) serves as a home base for support, connection and care. Recent initiatives demonstrate Whitworth’s focus on creating a compassionate, welcoming environment for its military-connected students, including:
• Operation Recharge: Over $5,000 was raised to establish a dedicated respite room, featuring a state-of-the-art Titan Jupiter LE massage chair, providing much-needed relaxation and recovery for our veterans.
• Rec room redesign: The MAVRC transformed its recreational space into a multifunctional area, incorporating a fully equipped gym to promote physical fitness and wellness among veterans.
• Whitewater rafting adventure: A memorable whitewater rafting trip gave veterans the opportunity to connect with nature and each other in an exhilarating outdoor experience.
• Military Appreciation Football Game: At this special event honoring our veterans, student veterans were presented with a prestigious Whitworth Challenge Coin as a symbol of appreciation for their service.
• 33rd Annual Veterans Day Ceremony: The Whitworth community and local dignitaries joined us in commemorating Veterans Day, reinforcing our commitment to honoring the sacrifices of our veterans on campus.
The 2025-2026 Military Friendly® Schools list will be published in the May and October issue of G.I. Jobs magazine and can be found at www.militaryfriendly.com.
The university is approved to serve those eligible for educational benefits through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, including the Post-9/11 GI Bill®, Yellow Ribbon Program, Montgomery GI Bill®, Veterans Educational Assistance, Survivors & Dependents Assistance, and Military Tuition Assistance.
