Whitworth Music Ensembles Kick Off the Spring Season with Concerts March 11 and 13
On Saturday, March 11, at 7 p.m., the Whitworth Choir and Whitworth Symphony Orchestra will join for a special performance at First Presbyterian Church of Spokane. Die Kleine Meisterwerke combines the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and German composer and pianist Fanny Mendelssohn-Hensel.
Xiaosha Lin, director of choral activities, and Philip Baldwin, director of string studies and director of the Whitworth Symphony Orchestra, will lead this group of talented musicians.
The event is free and open to the public.
On Monday, March 13, at 7:30 p.m., the Whitworth Wind Symphony, conducted by Richard Strauch, presents its Wind Currents concert at the Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox. The wind symphony will be joined by the Shadle Park High School Wind Ensemble, conducted by Matt Wenman, and the Mt. Spokane High School Wind Ensemble, led by conductor Sy Hovik. Admission is free.
