One of the most beloved events at Whitworth University, the Christmas Festival Concerts, continues in a new location this year. Hear the beautiful voices of Whitworth’s choral ensembles accompanied by student instrumentalists inside St. John’s Cathedral on Dec. 7 and 8.
The U.S. Department of Education has awarded Whitworth University with a $3.37 million grant, the largest grant in Whitworth’s history. The five-year grant will be used to establish the Whitworth University School-Based Mental Health Partnership Program (WU-MHPP). This program will address critical mental health needs by increasing the number and diversity of certified school counselors across five high-need school districts and three Educational Service Districts in Eastern Washington.
The Whitworth University Board of Trustees has elected Julie L. Levi, J.D., to be its next chair, succeeding Brian Kirkpatrick, who has served as chair since 2020. She will begin her three-year term as chair of the board on July 1, 2025.
Whitworth Assistant Professor of Political Science Aaron Hitefield and two of his students, Dylan Richardson ’25 and Ziona Rose ’25, will head to Baku, Azerbaijan, this month to attend the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 29).
