Whitworth’s Office of Church Engagement to Hold 2025 Ministry Summit June 24-27

March 10, 2025

Please join the Whitworth Office of Church Engagement (OCE) for the return of the Whitworth Ministry Summit on June 24-27. After a three-year hiatus, the redesigned conference will take place in person and on campus at Whitworth University.

This year’s gathering will center on the theme “Repairers of the Breach: Nurturing Faith Communities that Restore Hope and Peace,” inspired by Isaiah 58:12. Teaching and seminars will focus on communal discernment of God’s calling for the Church and rest and spiritual nourishment for pastors and leaders navigating the tricky dynamics of division, anger, apathy and violence in our culture.

“I am so excited and grateful to invite our community back to the Whitworth Ministry Summit this June,” says Director of Church Engagement Mindy Smith. “Whitworth has always been a place for pastors and ministry leaders to gather, and at a time when we find ourselves confronted with so many difficult dynamics, it is a crucial time to gather around God’s story.”

The summit’s featured speakers and worship leader will include:

David Swanson, author and pastor of New Community Covenant Church in Chicago, and Jer Swigart, co-founder of peacemaking organization Global Immersion, who will each deliver morning plenary teachings.

Brenda Salter McNeil, associate professor in the School of Theology at Seattle Pacific University and pastor at Quest Church, who will preach daily at evening worship.

Taylor Leonhardt, solo recording artist and member of Mission House, who will lead worship each morning and evening. Evening worship is open to the public.

The OCE is happy to celebrate 10 years of partnership with churches and ministry leaders around the country. The conference will mark this exciting milestone with a catered dinner and short program highlighting the office’ s ongoing work. All attendees are invited to join the event.
