Whitworth to Host Sixth Annual Military Appreciation Game on Sept. 20

Whitworth University invites the public to attend its sixth annual Military Appreciation Football Game on Saturday, Sept. 20. Kickoff is at noon in the Whitworth University Pine Bowl. The Pirates will take on the University of Redlands Bulldogs.

Pregame activities will include a KC-135 Stratotanker flyover from Fairchild Air Force Base, 93rd Aerial Refueling Station. Dauntless Skydiving personnel will perform a spectacular jump and land right in the middle of the field. The Fairchild Honor Guard will present colors, and the national anthem will be performed by Zoey Byrd ’27. Members of the Army ROTC Bulldog Battalion and Air Force ROTC Detachment 905 and additional personnel from Fairchild Air Force Base will unfurl Whitworth’s 80-foot American flag on the field. 

During halftime, members of Whitworth’s military community will be honored in a coining ceremony led by President Scott McQuilkin and Col. Bryce Dribble, 92nd Air Refueling Wing, Fairchild Air Force Base.

Admission is free for all members of the military/veterans, their families, and Gold Star families.  Please visit the red Whitworth “Serving our Veterans” tent to pick up free tickets.
