Whitworth University Announces Three New Appointments to the Provost’s Office

September 15, 2025

Whitworth University is pleased to announce the promotions of three dedicated staff members in the provost’s office. These individuals have made lasting contributions to the university’s mission through their commitments to excellence, service and student success.

Tim Caldwell, Vice Provost of Student Affairs & Dean of Students

Tim Caldwell has been guiding our students for more than a decade and has been appointed to vice

provost & dean of students. Caldwell was a resident director from 2004-07. After several years away, Caldwell returned to Whitworth in 2015 as director of residence life and was later promoted to assistant dean for student life and then associate dean for student life, community standards & compliance. In those roles, he provided supervisory oversight of the Center for Career & Professional Development and the Dornsife Center for Community Engagement. He also oversaw the student conduct system, co-led the student crisis response and threat assessment teams, served as Title IX deputy coordinator, was a member of the Student Success Team, and served on numerous campus committees. At the close of the 2023-24 academic year, he was asked to oversee campus-wide efforts to improve student retention rates. His efforts were successful as Whitworth experienced an 8 percent increase in retention in one year.

Stacy Hill, Ed.D., Vice Provost of Academic Affairs

Stacy Hill, Ed.D., has dedicated her entire career to advancing education and student success. She began her professional journey teaching English, social studies and leadership at Mt. Spokane High

School while simultaneously serving Whitworth as a clinical faculty member and senior lecturer. She went on to become an associate professor of education before being appointed director of Whitworth’s Teacher Certification Program in 2016.

In 2022, Hill was promoted to associate provost of academic affairs, and in 2023 she assumed the additional role of registrar. Her steady leadership and commitment to excellence have strengthened Whitworth’s academic programs and operations, making her promotion to vice provost of academic affairs a recognition of both her years of service and her vision for the future.

Emilee Langbehn Bosh ’09, University Registrar

Since returning to her alma mater in 2014, Emilee Langbehn Bosh has devoted 11 years of distinguished service to Whitworth, including a decade in the office of the registrar. This appointment marks her sixth role within the office, a testament to her steadfast leadership, expertise in academic operations and commitment to student success. Bosh’s Whitworth career began in institutional advancement, where she contributed her talents to the

alumni & parent relations and annual giving teams. She went on to serve as interim director of university events, managing teams responsible for putting on the spring graduate gala and commencement. Beyond her official roles, she has offered her time and expertise to multiple divisions, receiving recognition for her collaborative spirit, thoughtful leadership and attention to detail.

In her current role, she partners closely with academic affairs on matters of policy, student records, registration, degree completion and the implementation of strategic initiatives that support the entire Whitworth community. She is admired for approaching each new challenge with grace and professionalism.

“Academic affairs and student affairs benefit from the extraordinary talent of these three leaders,” says John Pell, provost & executive vice president. “They are not only skilled professionals, but they are trusted partners and friends. Together they form a remarkable team whose collaboration, creativity and dedication inspire me daily. Whitworth’s future is bright thanks in part to these incredible leaders who provide vision to Whitworth’s holistic approach to transformational education.”
